Finally, a calendar that shows the Jewish year and how it fits into the secular year!
This beautiful calendar features the Jewish festivals and holidays and the Hebrew months as they correspond to the Gregorian calendar year. This is a great project for Sunday school, and it also makes a fantastic addition to any unit on religion. And really, isn't it a beautiful way to display the rhythm of the Jewish year?
I have included two sizes for you: One 8" calendar that makes a perfect project to do in class and send home with your students, and one giant 18" version to hang on your classroom wall.
This flat (one-layer) calendar shows the Jewish liturgical year, featuring the familiar Northern Hemisphere seasonal imagery and the Gregorian months in the center, then the Hebrew months in Hebrew and English, and finally the Jewish holidays and festivals on the outer ring. Each holiday has a line connecting it to the Hebrew month in which it falls, with the start date of the holiday indicated on the line.
***Please note: I am a reform Jew, and this has informed the entire creation of this calendar.
